The weight of the 7th generation Alto was 740 kg, while the 8th generation weighed 620 kg. Similarly, it was 680 kg in the 9th generation and now it will be only 580 kg in the 10th generation.
Maruti Suzuki has used many lightweight materials in the chassis and engine components of the 10th generation model. The new Alto will be built on an improved HeartTech platform. Ultra and advanced high-tensile slits are used in the HeartTech platform.
It is said that due to the reduction in weight, there will be a lot of increase in mileage. The mileage of the previous Maruti Alto K10 was 24.39 km per liter, while the mileage of the 10th generation model will be 30 km per liter.
The Alto will also come in EV and Hybrid variants
Maruti Suzuki has also planned to bring the 10th generation model of Alto in electric and hybrid engines. Maruti Suzuki has already introduced the Grand Vitara and Brezza with hybrid engines and is also developing small cars like Swift and Baleno with hybrid engines.
Although Maruti has so far only focused on ICE and hybrid technology, there is a possibility that the new Alto will also come in an electric option due to its lightweight profile. The new Altomo can also be used with a large size battery pack.
